Experience

Design philosophy

I use storytelling tactics within design to articulate experiences that feel personal. I find and reveal the designs and words that empower understanding, foster curiosity, and improve our lives in an ever-evolving world of information. The words I write are the guide, the companion, the narrator of an experience.

In a partnership, you can trust me to bring clarity to complexity, uncover direction in ambiguity, and find the thread that weaves everything together—the story.

Spotify

Design Manager / Design Lead

March–August 2023

I led a team of writers and designers focused on guiding listeners through moments of discovery, consideration, engagement, and retention across paid subscriptions and à la carte purchases.

Additionally, I built content frameworks and foundations to leverage across machine learning and messaging platforms to improve tooling, content recommendations, and ML models.

UX Writing Lead

January 2022–March 2023

I led the design strategy and information architecture for the company’s messaging platform, and steered the creation a holistic messaging UX so that Spotify’s communications with listeners, artists, and creators are streamlined and purposeful. Think: in-app modals and banners, contextual cards, push notifications, and emails.

I also created and maintained messaging patterns, systems, and standards, drove initiatives to design and test new messaging formats, developed localized tone frameworks, redesigned platform tooling, and collaborated with global product and marketing teams to deliver high-quality messaging experiences.

Meta

January 2021–January 2022

I led content design for the company design system and built a centralized user interest taxonomy for Meta products, primarily used within Facebook and Instagram. I also regularly mentored and up-leveled craft for 5–6 junior and senior designers. I also continued supporting the central platform team as a mentor and strategic thought partner.

Senior Content Designer

September 2018–January 2021

I was the lead content designer on high-risk, sensitive language related to privacy, data, and various humanitarian issues. In this role, my projects spanned COVID-19 research maps, racial injustice initiatives, voter empowerment efforts, and privacy compliance standards.

I was also the lead for central platform products, including internal systems and tooling for internationalization, messaging, metrics, experimentation, and user data.

Prior, I was the first content designer for external-facing metrics and experimentation tooling. I guided product teams and other designers in metrics creation, data visualization best practices, and metrics naming and defining. I also worked closely with engineers to build internal tooling experiences that supported new and power users across Meta apps.
